Lifelong Learning Association for Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development

AEPMDD, Lifelong Learning Association for Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development is a non-profit organization that aims to provide all citizens with the opportunity to enhance their skills required for getting involved in social activities concerning environmental issues and sustainable development.

Why do we need to protect the environment? What does sustainable development mean? Why is it so important that every citizen should get involved in the social life of his/her community?
These are some of the questions our organization encourages people to answer throughout the activities and projects that are constantly organized.

The World Commission on Environment and Development defines sustainable development as "development which aims to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs".

Sustainable development becomes equivalent to sustainable society. We cannot separate human activity from the environment and resources. Citizens' quality of life depends on how healthy, socially secure and economically stable the society is.
